Earlier this year, we witnessed the horrific devastation caused by bushfire across the country at unprecedented levels, burning nearly 15 million acres of native forest. The devastation seen New South Wales particularly was almost unfathomable with nearly 9 million acres of bushland, natural habitat, homes and communities damaged or destroyed and lives lost. New South Wales is home to some of the most iconic of Australia's wildlife including koalas, wombats and kangaroos and their habitat is rapidly declining and why the reforestation of native Australian tree species is so important. We are focusing our donations this year on helping to regenerate country with One Tree Planted. Planting native Australian tree species (like River Red Gum, Scribbly Gum, Smooth-Barked Apple and Grey Mangrove) ensures effective regeneration of biodiversity and the natural habitat of animal species found nowhere else in the world. .
